The news of the special prosecutor, Martin Alamisi Amidu's resignation come as a surprise to many Ghanaians as they were not expecting such news.

Not only did the news of his resignation draw reaction from Ghanaians but also got people talking,

According to him, Amidu’s resignation from his outfit will only stagnate the fight against corruption and give more power than usual to the individuals engaged in corrupt activities

“... it is not only difficult to fight corruption but the system appears to also be fighting those that are fighting against corruption.

As reported by JoyNews, Manasseh noted a number of ambassadors came out publicly to speak about the fact that those that were fighting corruption were being fought

Manasseh stated that until a leader commits himself to the fight against corruption, there will be no progress.

“Until we get a leader of this country who is committed, not just by words, but by actions, to anti-corruption, we are going nowhere,” he said.

In an earlier report filed by YEN.com.gh, the Special Prosecutor, Martin Alamisi Burns Kaiser Amidu, has resigned from his position after three years of his appointment.

He resigned from his position on November 16, 2020, through a letter addressed to the president, Nana Akufo-Addo.

Amidu suggested that Akufo-Addo has not been able to ensure the independence of his office and his freedom to act on matters without interference.

Amidu cited feedback on his recently submitted corruption risk assessment on Agyapa Royalties Limited Transactions as one of the triggers that have got him to resign.
