Since his appointment to occupy the office of the special prosecutor, there have been one complain or the other concerning what exactly he was supposed to do.
The member of parliament for the Assin Central constituency, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has reacted to the resignation of Martin Amidu as the Special Prosecutor.
According to him, he warned the Akufo-Addo-led New Patriotic Party (NPP) government against his appointment but they did not heed to his advice.

Kennedy Agyapong said he insisted that Martin Amidu was the wrong person to occupy that position.
Ina repot filed by 3 news, the Assin central MP said the resignation of Amidu should not come as a headache to anyone as he did nothing better when he was in office.
He added that Amidu’s statement would not have any effect on the NPP in any way as the party heads to the general elections.

Amidu resigned from his position, through a letter addressed to the president, Nana Akufo-Addo on November 16, 2020.
In his resignation letter, Amidu suggested that President Akufo-Addo has not been able to ensure the independence of his office and his freedom to act on matters.
Amidu also mentioned the feedback on his recently submitted corruption risk assessment on Agyapa Royalties Limited Transactions as one of the triggers that have got him to resign.
Award-winning journalist, Manasseh Azure, holds the view that the system seems to be fighting against to who have made it a point to fight the corruption.
Manasseh stated that until a leader commits himself to the fight against corruption, there will be no progress.
