Former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings has turned a year older today, November 17, 2020.
Born in 1948, the founder and leader of National Democratic Party (NDP) has attained the ripe age of 72 years.
But unlike her previous birthdays, Nana Konadu is celebrating without happiness as she is in mourning.
Nana Konadu's husband, former President Jerry John Rawlings has passed away throwing the family and many Ghanaians in deep sorrow.
As we all know, the former president passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2020, at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital after a short illness.
While this may not the best times to mark her birthday, many Ghanaians took to social media to celebrate her by sharing her photos.
Among the many photos of Nana Konadu sighted by YEN.com.gh are throwback photos showing the former first lady in her teenage years.
The photos were first shared by Instagram blog, Sweet Maame Adwoa on the evening of Nana Konadu's birthday.
The first has Konadu rocking a white outfit with 'afro' hair which was the trend at the time.
In the second photo Konadu (first from right) twinned in the same outfit with another lady.
The last photo has Nana Konadu standing with a friend and this time, she had permed hair.
Meanwhile, the family of Jerry John Rawlings has released new details and directives on his funeral. The new details include the family's decision not to hold a one-week observance.
In a statement on Saturday, November 14, 2020, the family also directed visitors to call for prior appointments before coming over
The statement also debunked reports that Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings was sick.
