Lil Wayne has reportedly been charged with one count of possession of a firearm and ammunition. The US rapper could go to jail for 10 years if he is convicted.

The US Attorney for the Southern District of Florida recently charged the rapper for a December 2019 incident where federal agents searched his plane at Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport. He was a passenger.

Weezy's attorney Howard Srebnick reportedly said that the Mrs Officer hitmaker was charged for possessing a gold-plated handgun in his luggage back in December last year.

Srebnick told TMZ that there's no allegation that he ever fired it, brandished, used or threatened to use it.

The star is scheduled to appear in court next month, according to the publication. Social media users have taken to Twitter to share their reactions after Weezy was charged. The Drop the World hitmaker has been slammed on social media for "selling out" black people after he publicly supported Trump days before the US election.
