6 ministers whose performance might encourage people to give Akufo-Addo 4 more years
The year 2020 has been one of the years that would never be forgotten in history.
It has not just been busy for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), but also it has been busy for all political parties.

While President Akufo-Addo and his abled Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia have been busy proving themselves worthy enough to garner votes in the upcoming elections, some ministers within their administration are also putting in the work.
The overall performance of the government has been a mixed bag, but there are some ministers who stilled managed to distinguish themselves.

Due to their sterling performances, YEN.com.gh believes that Ghanaians would decide to give the NPP the mandate in the upcoming December polls.
YEN.com.gh list the six best performing ministers in the Akufo-Addo government whose efforts might cause Ghanaians to vote for the party.
1. Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah
The Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, happens to be admired by most Ghanaians for his effective ways of disseminating information.
After replacing his boss, Mustapha Hamid, at the ministry, he has been nothing short of amazing.
2. Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh – Education minister
Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, was rated as the best performing Ghanaian minister according to a survey carried out by the Political Science department of the University of Ghana.
During the COVID-19 period, his ministry together with the Ghana Health Service, made all the necessary arrangements to ensure that students at home continued with their academic work.
His abled deputy, Dr. Yaw AduTwum cannot be left out, as he took a personal interest in the online education of students by taking turn to tutor in the online classes.
Their collective effort as education ministers is sure going to give Ghanaians the urge to vote the NPP in December 2020.
3. Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto – Food and Agriculture minister
Dr. Owusu Afriyie is one of the very few ministers who have not been reshuffled since the Akufo-Addo government assumed office.
This may not totally be as a result of his competence, but being kept as Minister for Food and Agriculture for three years shows he’s doing something right.
Since launch of the Planting for Food and Jobs programme, many farmers in the country have benefitted, while production of food crops has also been given a boost.
President Akufo-Addo also commended his ministry for ensuring that the National Buffer stock did not run dry during the COVID-19 period.
His efforts at the agriculture ministry might push Ghanaians to vote for Akufo-Addo.
4. John Peter Amewu – Energy minister
The Energy Minister, John Peter Amewu was appointed to act as Energy minister in May 2018 and he has since risen to become a substantive minister.
Amewu has not had it all rosy, especially when the scandalous Power Distribution Services (PDS) deal hit the nation.
Despite all this, YEN.com.gh believes that the power situation in the country is not as terrible as it used to be.
The debate over who solved dumsor will continue to rumble on, but all that Ghanaians care about is that they have uninterrupted power supply.
5. Alan Kyerematen – Trade and Industry minister
Minister for Trade and Industry, Alan Kyerematen is another who has been on top of his game since appointed into office.
Job creation has always been one of the problems of the teeming youth and graduate students in Ghana. The introduction of diffirent employment initiatives like the NaBCo, One-District One-Factory and a host of others has led to the employment of many people who were previously unemployed.
His and that of his team's efforts might make Ghanaians, especially the youth vote for President Akufo-Addo.
6. Kwaku Agyemang-Manu – Health minister
In April 2019, Health minister, Kwaku Agyemang-Manu, famously declared that he should be called ‘Drones Minister’.
This was after government successfully launched the drone project to deliver emergency health care products to health centres in deprived communities.
This remains one of the biggest policies introduced in Ghana’s health sector and has drones have already starting working in some parts of the country.
Agyemang-Manu, together with Okoe Boye also during the COVID-19 period are believed to have properly managed the COVID-19 pandemic effectively.
