- The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has been criticized by the vice president.
- Dr. Bawumia claims the NDC was hypocritical of the late Jerry Rawlings.
- The vice president insists the previous Mahama administration is bereft with corruption.
The Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia says the NDC’s pride in probity and accountability is sheer hypocrisy and dishonesty.
Addressing teachers and students of the Yendi Senior High School, the vice president questioned where those values were when they squandered funds for SADA, Airbus, and the bus branding scandal.
Bawumia made further damning remarks stating the NDC disrespected the former president Jerry John Rawlings when he was alive, unleashing “babies with sharp teeth” to insult him. He believes the sorrows of the NDC amid Rawlings’ death is hypocritical.
According to Bawumia, the NDC under John Dramani Mahama can’t boast of a single road they completed in any of the five Regions of the north. He said the only legacy John Mahama claimed he had left is SADA and even with SADA no single project is there to show for the eight years of his rule.
Meanwhile, the vice president later commissioned a one story classroom block for the school. He also commissioned a mosque he personally supported for the completion and renovation of some parts. He also paid a courtesy call on Yaa Naa.
