President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is rounding up on his campaign tours around the country as the 2020 general elections is fast approaching.

During his final day 2-day Greater Accra regional tour, he made a stop over at a rally at East Legon in the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency.

Fuming with disappointment at the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, John Mahama, he said his campaign messages were full of lies and propaganda.

“Mahama’s campaign has fallen in the water. His campaign has landed in confusion, misrepresentations and outright fabrications," he said.

In a report filed by CitiNews, he added that, one cannot go to the presidency of Ghana with lies and fabrications.

Interestingly, Mahama also holds the same view that President Akufo-Addo is using lies and sweet words to convince people to vote for him.

Mahama during his tour of the Upper East Region insisted that he started the free SHS policy before President Akufo-Addo and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) took over.

“We started the programme and the NPP came and continued it. Unfortunately, the implementation has been very poor, and so it ended us in double-track.”

Akufo-Addo on the other hand, maintained that the lies from the NDC presidential candidate were borne out of one thing, and that is his campaign is failing to catch up with the electorate.

In other news, President Akufo-Addo unveiled a statue in memory of former Member of Parliament (MP) for Ablekuma South, Theresa Naa Ameley Tagoe, at Dansoman.

Akufo-Addo described the late Ameley Tagoe as a dynamic and uncompromising lady whose hard work helped strengthen the party at its grass roots level.

According to Akufo-Addo she was one of four women pioneers to secure a seat in Parliament for the NPP and attributed the growing women's wing of the party to her.
