With just 11 days away to the 2020 presidential and parliamentary elections, the New Patriotic Party is hopeful that they would win the mandate in the upcoming polls.

One thing that makes the NPP confident that they would win the 2020 general elections, is their flagship programme, the Free SHS initiative.

In view of this, the Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, said beneficiaries of the free SHS policy will remember Akufo-Addo during the 2020 polls.

According to him, president Akufo-Addo envisioned and implemented the policy very well.

The flagbearer of the NDC, John Dramani Mahama during his tour of the Upper East Region stated that he started the free SHS policy before President Akufo-Addo and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) took over.

Oppong-Nkrumah stated that the millions of Ghanaians that have benefitted from the Free SHS do not have short memories.

He added that on December 7, 2020 they would definitely speak.

“The millions of Ghanaians impacted by the free SHS program do not have short memories. They know it was envisioned and started by President Akufo-Addo. They will speak on December 7,” Oppong Nkrumah.

Meanwhile, veteran journalist, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako, says former President, John Dramani Mahama, lied in claiming he started the free Senior High School policy.

Mahama, who is the presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), for the December 7 presidential election said during a recent campaign event that his administration started the policy in 2015.

But, the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), has been very poor in its implementation, and “so it ended us in double track,” Mahama bemoaned.

Commenting on the former president’s claim, the managing news editor of the New Crusading Guide dismissed it as pure lies.
