The former president's confidence about NDC’s chances in the elections comes on the back of the publication of two separate surveys that called the polls for the NDC and former president John Mahama.

Meanwhile, one of the surveys conducted by the political science department of the University of Ghana said unequivocally that Mahama would lose.

According to the survey, Akufo-Addo would secure reelection with 51.7 percent of valid votes cast, while Mahama would secure 40.4 percent of the votes.

The Ghana Union Movement (GUM’s), Christian Kwabena Andrews, would also collect 1.4 percent of the votes, placing him third, it added.

Akufo-Addo defeated Mahama in 2016 with 53.8 percent of the valid votes cast.
