- Menzgold customers have vowed to vote massively for John Mahama
- The ND flagbearer has promised in his campaign to pay all their locked up funds
- Aggrieved customers of the pyramid scheme have embarked on protests over their funds
With barely a week to the December 7th elections, Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has won the votes of about 600,000 customers of defunct Menzgold.
John Mahama in one of his campaign promises vowed to repay all locked up funds of aggrieved customers of the gold dealership firm. To this effect, all members of the Coalition of Menzgold Customers have been tasked by their leadership to draw in 10 more votes aside from theirs for John Mahama.
Menzgold, has been described by many financial analysts as the greatest scam in Ghana’s financial history with over 6 million dollars of principal funds locked up.
Even though the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), warned customers against investing their funds at the firm, customers still went on to invest their monies.
Even as votes remain under threat for President Akufo Addo and the NPP, the government has insisted it will not pay customers of the Pyramid Scheme stating they defied rules of investment and went ahead to risk their funds.
So far, the founder of Menzgold, Nana Appiah Mensa, has been in and out of court with the case against him for forgery in suspense. The notorious money doubler had recently offered to provide parcels of land to the aggrieved customers in exchange for their lost funds but the aggrieved customers rejected the offer.
There have been over fifty demonstrations since the collapse of the firm. In all, the government still insists these customers are on their own.
