Award-winning Ghanaian comedian, Derrick Kobina Bonney known by the stage name DKB has suggested that only science students must pursue nursing courses.
The comedian, in a video sighted by YEN.com.gh, was speaking following the death of a friend's relative after a nurse reportedly misdiagnosed or misappropriated drugs to the patient.
A rather livid DKB said he was at a loss as to why the nursing regulatory bodies were not ensuring that only students with science backgrounds from at least the SHS level were the ones pursing the programme.
According to him, the nursing profession had become so cheap that students from other disciplines like General Arts, Business and Home Economics, were the ones pursuing it.
He went on to add that the nursing profession was now filled with 'slay queens' who are only interested in taking photos and posting them online.
DKB drew a comparison and said it was only science students who were made to pursue medicine and wondered why it was not the same for nursing since nurses and doctors work hand-in-hand.
The comedian said he was a Bachelor of Science student who graduated from the University of Ghana so he knows what it takes to be studying such courses.
According to him, it is painful to lose a loved one from medical negligence and that sad part is that the deed cannot be undone so the best candidates needed to be selected for the job.
Many fans and followers of the comedian could not agree more with DKB's position as they took to the comment section to support him.
YEN.com.gh earlier reported that a new video going around on social media has shown a young man bemoaning the productivity of a beard spray he bought to get more hair to flex in town.
The video sighted by YEN.com.gh saw the young man sitting in what looked like his room as he looked gloomy over the incident.
After indicating that he was suffering and asking God to have mercy on him, he said his beard spray was not doing its job.
