“He has found himself a place to sit on top of the mast. His bag and gallon of water are all close to him. He told people in the area he was going to climb up the mast and stay there until President Akufo-Addo is declared winner in the December polls," an Assemblymember is noted as saying.

The Assemblymember, Kaakyire Asumadu, went on to reveal that the man known as Kojo Marfo, had embarked on similar missions before but was rescued by personnel of Ghana's Fire Service.

He indicated that all his attempts to convince him to rethink his perilous decision had not yielded any results since he started communicating and gesturing signs of plea to him at 2 am.

The matter has been reported to the police and they have started taking measures to bring a solution to it.

Many of the townfolk have gathered at the base of the mast and waiting with bated breath for the man's next line of action.
