Election 2020: 5 top female journos who graced our screens with their intellect (Photos)

Although the media came under a series of attacks, especially as the results for the 2020 election began trickling in, journalists remained resolute in performing their work.

In the lead-up to the 2020 presidential and parliamentary polls, the two leading political parties, the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the opposition National Democratic Congress, labelled the media as bias.

Despite the mounds of attacks that targeted media houses and media personnel, these female professionals resolved not to fall prey to efforts aimed at throttling their independence and professionalism.

They mostly fervently demonstrated that their goal has always been to serve the public and not those in power.

YEN.com.gh has compiled the names and snaps of five female broadcasters who graced our screens with their intellect before, during and after the 2020 election.

1. Afia Pokua, better known as Vim Lady, is the head of programmes at the Despite Media Group. She was one of the notable faces who provided detailed information and analyses in the lead-up, during, and after the 2020 polls.

2. GHOne's Serwaa Amihere was also a leading broadcaster who provided information and thorough analyses before, during, and after the presidential and parliamentary elections.

3. Nana Aba Anamoah, the acting general manager of GHOne and ace broadcaster, led her team to provide detailed information and analyses of election-related developments and results in the run-up, during, and after the 2020 polls.

4. Araba Kommson of Joy News is a senior journalist at the Multimedia Group. Her years of expertise in journalism and covering elections ultimately benefited the team at the Joy News Election Head Quarters.

5. TV3's Porta Gabo was mostly on the field to capture happenings on the ground. She is a multiple award-winning journalist with years of experience.

In other news, YEN.com.gh previously reported that President Nana Akufo-Addo has celebrated actor Prince David Osei's 37th birthday with a heartwarming message.

On Sunday, December 6, 2020, handlers of the president's social media platforms shared a photo of Prince David Osei to celebrate his big day.

The stunning snap included an uplifting message which read: ''May you enjoy love, hope, and everlasting joy and happiness. May God shower you with blessings today and always.''
