The report indicated that the average vote reduction in the second term of a ruling party before 2016 was 2.75 percentage points.

NPP would be expected to obtain about 51% going by this in 2020.

However, data also shows that the ruling party’s votes could increase after four years when the opposition presents the same candidate and this meant the NPP could therefore obtain 54% in 2020.

Meanwhile, independent presidential aspirant, Marricke Kofi Gane, has urged Ghanaians to step out massively and cast their votes on December 7, 2020.

In a post sighted by YEN.com.gh on the personal Facebook handle of the leader of the Gane4Ghana movement, Marricke said Ghanaians must do this even though they may not like any of the political figures on the ballot paper.

Gane explained that surely, one of the presidential candidates will win and rule Ghana for four years, so Ghanaians must take charge and choose which one will.
