Election 2020: Video shows jubilation at NPP's strongroom

It is still early days yet as we await more results in the 2020 presidential and parliamentary elections.

But it looks like the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) is very sure of victory and has started jubilating.

A video from the party's official collation centre has popped showing massive jubilation by the party's workers who are working the figures coming from the various polling stations across the country.

In the video sighted by YEN.com.gh, CEO of the National Communication Authority (NCA) Joe Anokye who is leading activities at the party's collation centre (strongroom) was leading the people to sing praises.

Joe Anokye, a former engineer with NASA who is credited with NPP's swift collation of results in the 2016 elections, is heard singing the popular gospel song 'Aba Mu Awie' which literally means it has come to pass.

While singing Joe Ankokye point to the projections of the results on a giant screen which showed President Nana Akufo-Addo.

The video comes after NPP reacted to the NDC's press conference claiming to have flipped 36 of its seats.

According to the NPP's General Secretary John Boadu, the party is winning majority in parliament and retaining the presidential seat.

John Boadu claimed that President Nana Akufo-Addo has a commanding 700,000 lead over John Mahama out of results from 87% of polling stations.

The NDC had held its first press conference after polls closed in the 2020 elections claiming an impending victory.

The party's Director of Elections Elvis Afriyie Ankrah claimed that the NDC had flipped 36 parliamentary seats held by the NPP.
