The National Democratic Congress, NDC parliamentary candidate for the Madina Constituency, Francis Xavier Sosu has recaptured the seat for the NDC.
The New Patriotic Party's Boniface Abu-Bakar Saddique, who was the incumbent, lost his seat to NDC's Francis Xavier Sosu with a 15,342 vote difference.
Out of the 110,403 total votes cast, Lawyer Sosu secured 62,127 votes, defeating Boniface Saddique who had 46,785.

Abu-Bakar Saddique Boniface was a Minister of State at the Office of the Vice President and a former Minister for Inner Cities and Zongo Development.
He is also the former Member of Parliament for the Salaga Constituency.

He had prior to the election, said he would not underestimate his main opponent, Francis Xavier who raised concerns about his contribution to the constituency.
This is not the first time the member of parliament-elect has contested in a general election.
