The chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana, Jean Mensah, has addressed the press regarding when to expect the declaration of the results.

In an official press address in the midnight of December 8, Jean Mensah indicated that the results will likely be declared later in the day on December 9.

According to her, the process was delayed by unexpected rainfall and other minor issues around the country but 14 out of 16 regional results have been successfully collated.

Earlier, on December 7, 2020, Ghana was shocked after the country went to the polls and results started trickling in, indicating that an NPP parliamentary candidate had 'performed magic' in the Volta Region.
