A video showing the atmosphere at the office of former President John Dramani Mahama soon after he was declared to have lost the presidential election has surfaced.

The footage sighted by YEN.com.gh on the Youtube handle of Ghanaweb shows a solemn atmosphere with party faithfuls walking around calmly with sadness.

John Dramani Mahama's NDC was declared by the Electoral Commission (EC) chaired by Jean Mensah to have lost the election to ruling President Nana Akufo-Addo.

Meanwhile, the NDC candidate in the just-ended 2020 Elections, John Mahama, has made his first comment after the EC declared his opponent, Akufo-Addo of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) the winner.

He was reacting to attack on some NDC supporters at Techiman South by the police and military at a time they were protesting an alleged election malpractice. “Sad day for Ghana.

What happened to rules of engagement? Police as first line of engagement, Graduated Force and military as last?” Mahama queried.

In other news, the chairperson of the electoral commission of Ghana, Jean Mensah's leadership saw a moment of praying to God for his intervention in proceedings before and after addressing the press.

This all-important spiritual activity was carried out on the midnight of December 8, 2020, when Jean Mensah addressed the press on when to expect official declaration from the EC.

The event preceded and concluded with prayers saw Jean indicate that the result will be declared later and the day and apologize for the delay thus far.
