- The NDC has rejected the results declared by the EC describing them as charade

- The general secretary of the party, John Asiedu Nketia, alleged that National Security had been deployed across Ghana to get pink sheets manufactured

- But, CODEO rejected the NDC’s claims of results fabrications

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has described the declared results of the 2020 presidential race as a “charade”.

Addressing the media on Thursday, December 10, 2020, the general secretary of the party, Johnson Asiedu Nketia reiterated the party’s rejection of the results.

“I have come to confirm that we still stand by our original position,” he stated.

“Any results that anybody pretends to announce will not be the results of the December 7, 2020, elections. It will be the figment of his or her imagination,” he added.

Asiedu Nketia further alleged that personnel of the National Security had been deployed across the country to manufacture and change pink sheets results in favour of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Meanwhile, the Coalition of Domestic Election Observers (CODEO) rejected the claims by the NDC that the results were fabricated.

The local election observer said the results declared by the chairperson of the commission, Jean Mensa, were accurate and consistent with what it collated per its Parallel Vote Tabulation (PVT) methodology used in observing the 2020 elections.

In a statement on Thursday, December 10, 2020, CODEO said the data was thoroughly checked for “accuracy and internal consistency.”

“Given that the official result announced by the Electoral Commission for each candidate falls within their respective PVT estimated confidence ranges, CODEO can confidently confirm that its PVT estimates are consistent with the official presidential election results,” the coalition stated.
