John Peter Amewu, the parliamentary candidate for Hohoe in the Volta Region who won a seat on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has commenced his works with vigour.

Reports by myjoyonline.com and adomonline.com indicate that Amewu, who is the current Minister of Energy is building a state-of-the-art palace for the local traditional council at Wli.

According to the MP-elect, the facility will serve as a major tourist attraction in the area and help facelift the community in general as it is worth $2 million.

John Peter Amewu, who spoke at a special ceremony regarding the palace being built for the Wli Traditional Council, also reassured all and sundry about other projects that will be undertaken.

“I want to assure you that henceforth, it is all about development in Wli. I am commencing all my campaign promises here in Wli,” he said.

The MP-elect amazes Ghanaians when he was able to win a seat on the ticket of NPP in the 'world bank' region of the NDC in the just-ended parliamentary election.

On December 7, 2020, Ghana was shocked after the country went to the polls and results started trickling in, indicating that an NPP parliamentary candidate had 'performed magic' in the Volta Region.

Peter Amewu got a total of 26,952 votes while his closest contender, Prof Margaret Kweku, got 21,821 in total.

In a breakdown of events leading to the victory of Peter Amewu, findings gathered by YEN.com.gh show that when he served as Energy Minister, the NPP MP-elect did a lot of good for his people.
