Our manifesto: This is what YEN.com.gh believes in

The astute lawyer has played a pivotal role in Ghana's democracy after she oversaw the successful 2020 general elections which were staged on December 7, 2020.

Jean Mensa had some huge shoes to fill as her predecessors, including recent past EC Chair Charlotte Osei and veteran Afari Gyan, proved their mettle on the job.

After she was handed the job, she literally hit the ground running and has managed to price that she is the right person for the job judging by the relatively peaceful 2020 elections which she headed.

Prior to joining Ghana's Electoral Commission, Jean Mensa spent 18 years at the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA).

She rose to the position of Executive Director and played a pivotal role in strengthening Ghana’s democracy and promoting strong institutions.

YEN.com.gh earlier reported that the founder of the All People’s Congress (APC), Hassan Ayariga, has jabbed Ghana Union Movement’s (GUM) Reverend Christian Kwabena Andrews over his third position.

In a report sighted by YEN.com.gh on Myjoyonline, Mr Ayariga asked Osofo Kyiri Abosom to stop claiming the third position in the just ended 2020 polls because it was no different from the last position.

Ayariga went on to add that all the other smaller parties have failed since they could not even secure one percent of the total votes cast in the December 7 polls.

“I want the GUM leader to know that we have all failed. We the smaller parties didn’t even get one percent of the votes. It is a disgrace and the worst results ever. For all the huge monies we have spent during the campaign and we didn’t even get one percent is not something that I am happy about,” Hassan Ayariga said while granting an interview to Adom FM.
