Screenshots suggest NPP was the only party followed by EC on Twitter until now

- The Electoral Commission of Ghana has, as screenshots suggest, followed the NPP on Twitter until now

- Celebritiesbuzz.com.gh confirms to have made the observation and captured the screenshot prior to an update that has been currently made

- Checks made YEN.com.gh show that the current followers contained in the screenshot were the same as that on the verified Twitter handle of the EC, save NPP

It has emerged that the Electoral Commission of Ghana has followed the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) until the act was recently discovered and reported on.

Celebritiesbuzz.com.gh, who confirmed to have verified and taken the screenshots, reports that the NPP was the only political party in the country among the 12 followers the EC's verified Twitter account had.

It is indicated that the EC 'quickly unfollowed' the ruling political party, as well as two other figures after the discovery was made and reported on.

Indeed, a search conducted by YEN.com.gh indicates that the EC's verified Twitter handle, at the time of this report, had nine followers which include the exact names captured along with NPP in the previous screenshot.

This development comes amid the claims of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) that the NPP and the EC conspired to 'steal the mandate of the people'.

As YEN.com.gh earlier reported, the NDC's running mate, John Dramani Mahama, stated categorically in a press statement that the election was flawed and that his party had rejected the results.

Not long after this, the EC took back the presidential results declared, admitting that there was an error made during the declaration and went ahead to give new figures.
