Deputy Information Minister, Pius Enam Hadzide, has come hard at the opposition National Democratic Congress, NDC, for rejecting the election outcome.

He believes the NDC's rejection of the outcome of the just-ended polls is a charade to appease its supporters.

Speaking in a CitiTV interview, he added that, it is a normal trick politicians play after they loose the elections.

“This is clearly a normal trick in the book; that when political parties lose elections, the leadership in an attempt to manage the feelings and expectations of members and supporters engage in some of these gimmicks,” he said.

The Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Jean Mensa, on December 9, 2020, declared President Nana Addo DankAkufo-Addo as the winner of the December 7 polls.

Former president and presidential candidate of the NDC, John Dramani Mahama rejected the results of the 2020 elections.

Mahama stated without mincing words that he was not going to accept the EC's results since he believes it is flawed.

He went on to state that Jean Mensa's declaration of the results was a clear violation of the law because it did not follow the rules set out to conduct the elections

Mahama revealed that the party will audit the outcomes of the poll to inform its next line of action.

Hadzide however, believes that even, if the NDC opts for a legal tussle to challenge the result of the elections, it would lack conviction.

That, he said, would push the party to abandon the court proceedings.

“Even if the NDC starts the court proceedings they will abandon it because this is much ado about nothing.” he added.

Meanwhile, the Managing news editor of the crusading guide newspaper, Kweku Baako Jnr, says the results of presidential and parliamentary elections have been gazetted.

He believes it will only take a judgment from the Supreme Court to reverse the results of the elections.

Speaking on Joy News, the political commentator condemned John Mahama for not accepting the elections results.

He wondered why the very EC results he accepted in the 206 elections is now being contested in 2020.
