Martha Bissah: 23-year-old Ghanaian Olympic medalist graduates from top US university

Martha Bissah, a 23-year-old Ghanaian athlete has graduated from the Norfolk State University in the United States of America with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and major in Management Studies.

Myjoyonline.com and modernghana.com report that Bissah formed part of a contingent of athletes from Ghana for the Summer Youth Olympics in 2014 and won a gold medal for the country.

It is on record that in February 2017, the brilliant and hardworking lady won four gold medals at the Mid- Eastern Athletic Conference Indoor and Track & Field Championships.

During her time at the university, Martha was named the Female Athlete of the Year for two consecutive years in 2018 and 2019.

Her award in 2019, came after she set a new championship record in the US’ Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) women’s cross-country with a time of 17 minutes, 16 seconds.

During her graduation, Martha put on a beautiful kente outfit to project the Ghanaian culture to the rest of the world.

Information obtained directly from the brilliant mother of two indicates that she just graduated as the valedictorian of all Master of Philosophy programmes for the 2020 batch at the University of Ghana.

Linda, who is a product of the Mfantsiman Girls' Senior High School, was also at the University of Eastern Finland during her second year of her MPhil on an exchange programme.
