In a report filed by Citinews, Asiamah said he explained to the NDC why he could not join its MPs.

According to him, he would rather side with the NPP in parliament because, he had his political grounding from the party that ousted him.

“I belong to that house [NPP] and I am going home and I hope I will be welcomed as such,” Asiamah said.

"I don’t have any place to go. I am taking this decision with the prior recognition of my constituents,” Asiamah said.

Asiamah was ousted from the current Parliament because the NPP was displeased he had contested the election as an independent candidate.

He however, said he was willing to let bygones be bygones and go back to the place he calls home.
