African rapper Jeremih narrates how COVID-19 gave him memory loss & organ failure

The rapper Jeremih recently revealed the struggles he faced when he battled Covid-19 earlier in the year.

Jeremih detailed his experience during a joint interview with Chance the Rapper on Sway’s Universe while the two were promoting their latest Merry Christmas Little Mama collaboration.

During the interview, Jeremih opened up about learning to walk again, suffering memory loss and being in organ failure.

“I was really down bad for the last month and a half that I was in there,” he explained. “I don’t even remember the day I went in there that’s how messed up I was.”

Jeremih spoke about how he suffered from multi-system inflammatory syndrome, where his kidneys, liver and heart began failing to function. He then described how his recovery was a path of re-learning:

“Once I was removed from ICU after that week and a half I was going through recovery where I had to learn how to walk again, eat, all that stuff."

The 33-year-old R&B artist also added that he doesn’t remember anything from being in the Intensive Care Unit:

“I had a tube down my throat for about a week and a half. I was really like in a dream, I woke up two times and all I remember seeing is a white light.”

Jeremih's overall attitude seemed to be that he acknowledged the severity of the virus and that he was grateful to have recovered from it.
