Boy called wizard & left to starve finally wins in life; new photos go viral

- A kid, Hope, who was abandoned by his parents because of a misplaced belief that he is a witch now has a better life

- When Anja Ringgren Loven rescued him in 2016, there were little chances that the kid would survive the numerous ailments ravaging his body

A young boy identified as Hope who was abandoned on the streets of Eket in Nigeria and found by Anja Ringgren Loven has had his whole life transformed four years after.

Mirror reports that when the boy’s photo showing his malnourished body surfaced in 2016, the whole world was disgusted by his suffering.

Anja, the founder of a charity organisation DINNødhjæl, said the boy was in a very bad state when he was rescued by her organisation.

She went ahead to note that the boy’s chances of surviving the multiple diseases he had were very dicey as he was hospitalised for weeks.

It should be noted that Anja has helped many children like Hope with her charity. Since Hope was rescued, he has received a good education and fed well, care that saw him transform into a lively-looking and strong child.

Speaking about how the boy reacts to his old photo, Anja said:

"He will often point at it and smile as if he is proud. But I know it’s not about pride. Children are born with the ability to forgive.
"Children are born with no prejudices. It is when children are taught what to think and not how to think, we fail as a society…”

According to her, Hope was left on the street after he was accused of witchcraft by his parents. To that, Anja said the lack of education fuels superstitions.

Meanwhile, it was earlier reported that after photos of Kaosarat, the girl with blue eyes and her family went viral, a popular photographer, Mofe Bamuyiwa, got in touch with them to capture their beautiful features.

New photos of Risiqot, Kaosarat and her younger sister, Hassanat, were posted and social media users could not help but gush over them.

The photographer revealed that the mother and her children were sent away by her husband because of their eyes.
