Tyler Perry recently posted online about his "midlife crisis" and also announced that he is recently single and will be focusing on being a great father.

The multi-hyphenate had been linked to his longterm partner, Gelila Bekele, since 2009 with whom he shares his son, Aman.

Gelila Bekele is a star in her own right but the famous couple kept most of their personal lives private.

3 She began her career as a model

It won't come as a surprise that the stunning celebrity made a name for herself through the modelling industry. Her website lists that she began her career in 2006 and worked in fashion capitals like Paris and New York. Gelila still models today and has worked with iconic brands like Michael Kors, Levi's, Pantene and Tory Burch.

2 She's a filmmaker, activist and author

Gelila is passionate about human rights and is involved in campaigns dedicated to clean water access, the rights of women and girls, and the availability of education. She also produced the documentary Anbessa which debuted at the Berlin International Film Festival and has published a book titled Guzo!. Gelila's book was published in 2018 and the story follows a day in the life of 6 different Ethiopian tribes.

Gelila was born in Ethiopia and still boasts a strong connection with the African nation. She does much of her humanitarian work in the country and also regularly brings awareness to her thousands of Instagram followers about the Ethiopian people. Briefly.co.za reported on when Tyler Perry recently said he was single and took to social media to pour out his heart about going through a midlife crisis. The writer-director shared a selfie along with a caption describing his unfortunate circumstances. The 51-year-old said that he was still single and was clearly not pleased about it. The lengthy caption read:

He continued:

“In a world with so much sadness, please try and stay in the good! Merry Christmas and let’s look forward to 2021 bringing us peace!”

His post, which was meant to leave his fans contemplating the end of the year, left mature women thirsting for the Madea actor. His mentions were flooded with women trying their luck with Perry.
