Sterling Gyekye, a 19-year old young man is in the grips of the Ghana Police after he took the life of his own father, Bismark Osei, for failing to give him money for a phone.
According to a report sighted by YEN.com on Ghanaweb.com, Sterling requested money from his dad to buy a phone for his girlfriend but his dad was unable to come up with the cash.
The incident which occurred in Mamponteng in the Ashanti region of Ghana has left many astounded after it was reported.

Sterling is said to have attacked the father with a knife, and stabbed him in the ribs as part of efforts to ‘weaken’ him so as to snatch his phone from him.
According to a relative, Sterling informed him that his lover was demanding that he replaces her phone with a new one because he had smashed her phone out of jealousy after she received a call in his presence.
Therefore, the lady demanded that Sterling buys a new phone for her if he wanted their relationship to continue.
Alarmed by this, Sterling called his dad who was then in a nearby Methodist Church to come home.
When the Bismark Osei arrived, Sterling attacked his dad who was urinating near where he stood.
The young man is said to have tried to strangle his dad and when Bismark Osei tried calling for help, Sterling stabbed him in the ribs and it caused the man to give up the ghost instantly.
Young Sterling has since been arrested and is assisting the police in investigating the sad incident.
Moving away from death to another sad news, YEN.com.gh earlier reported that a young lady believed to have completed junior high school after successfully writing her Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) has been spotted crying in a video.
Information picked up from the video has it that the young lady went to check her BECE results and was surprised and displeased with the results she was seeing.
As the result slip was shown to her, she burst out into uncontrollable tears out of disbelief and claimed she wrote the papers well enough to deserve higher grades.
The young lady stood her ground even as people tried to calm her down and insisted she performed better than the grades she was seeing on her slip.
According to the conversation, the young lady scored Aggregate 20 but she claimed there might have been some mix-up somewhere.
