Fire outbreak: 4 Ayalolo buses burnt down to ashes at STC workshop in Kumasi

- Four ayalolo buses have been burnt in a fire outbreak in the Ashanti regional workshop of the State Transport Company (STC) in Kumasi

For the past few weeks the recorded cases of fire outbreaks in parts of the country have become quite rampant.

New reaching YEN.com.gh indicates that four buses popularly referred to as ayalolo buses have been burnt in a fire outbreak in the Ashanti regional workshop of the State Transport Company (STC) in Kumasi.

The incident happened on Wednesday night at about 10:20 pm when the station was closed for the day.

According to a report filed by JoyNews, the buses, totalling 62 would all have been burnt to ashes if not for the timely intervention of the fire service.

An eyewitness at the STC yard who was on the night shift, P. A. Adusei, said the fire engulfed the busses a few hours after the drivers had parked and left.

According to Adusei, eventhough he was on duty that night duty, he only saw flames of the fire but I could not tell what exactly the cause of the fire was.

Meanwhile, the Assistant Divisional Officer, (Grade 1), Bernard Nyametei said, investigations would begin to confirm the cause of the fire.

As at now, the cause of the fire is unknown, but the Acting Commander for Asokwa Municipal Fire Station has assured investigation will commence from Thursday to fish the cause.

Stillon fire outbreaks, the general secretary of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu, has fingered the leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the recent market fires.

Some major markets across the country have in recent times been razed down by fires.

Over the last few weeks, there have been reported cases of major markets in Ghana being set ablaze. The Koforidua, Kantamanto, Odawna, Asankragwa and, lately, Kaneshie, have been torched in one way or the other.

According to the NPP’s chief scribe, the frequency and coincidence with which the markets are burning on the back of threats by some element of the NDC to burn markets protest against the outcome of the 2020 polls left no enduring doubt that “they are behind these arson attacks”.
