Tears flow as Police find 5 family members dead inside their home on Christmas Day

Five family members have been found dead inside their home in Atkins, Arkansas, United States on Christmas Day.

The sad news was confirmed by the Pope County Sheriff's Office on Saturday, December 26, morning, which said the bodies of the deceased were found by deputies.

"The Pope County Sheriff’s Office along with Arkansas State Police is on the scene of a suspected homicide involving multiple victims within the 5100 Block of Pine Ridge Road near Atkins, Arkansas," it said on Facebook.

Police officers have swung into action to establish the cause of the death of the relatives even though homicide was suspected according to NBC News.

The men in uniform had not identified any suspects related to the incident by the time of going to press.

At approximately 5:14pm, deputies received a call of possible victims located at a residence, and on their arrival the scene was secured for investigators. This is still an ongoing investigation and no other information is available at this time," the Pope County Sherrif's Office and Detention Centre added.

In a related incident a month ago, three family members died in a road accident along Kisumu-Awasi Road.

The incident involving a car and a lorry occurred on Wednesday, November 25, at around 8pm and claimed the lives of a mother and her two children.

The two kids aged 10years and 12 years died on the spot while their mother succumbed to injuries while being taken to Ahero Sub-county Hospital.
