Young Ghanaians who amazed the entire nation with amazing achievements in 2020

The year 2020 came with many hardships particularly due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus pandemic which took the entire world by storm

Despite this fact, some young Ghanaians resiliently went above the norm to chalk stupendous achievements that went viral due to their intensity.

YEN.com.gh has gathered some of the most powerful feats by young people.

1. Daniel Kekeli Gakpetor

Gakpetor became a popular term in 2020 because of an amazing performance put up by the bearer of the name at the National Science and Maths Quiz, 2020.

As readers would recall, Gakpetor led Presbyterian Boys' Senior High (Presec) to win the highly coveted title for the sixth time.

He also went ahead to get straight 8As in his WASSCE.

2. Richard Kwarteng

A young man named Richard Kwarteng shocked the nation during the early stages of the COVID-19 outbreak in Ghana when he invented an automatic hand-washing machine.

Richard had developed the innovative product with just a normal metallic drum used to store items or water.

His story went viral and he was granted a patent by the Ghana Standards Authority for the production of the product to continue.

3. Kelvin Odartey

Kelvin Odartey, an 18-year-old JHS student made a car for himself using metallic scraps and other materials which he used to drive himself to write his final exams.

The car's design has been remanufactured by Kantanka Vehicles after Kelvin was invited over by the Ghanaian company

Safo Kantanka Jnr, the CEO of the car-manufacturing company, shared a photo of the car under construction and mentioned that it is called the Akofena

Although not fully confirmed, it is believed that Kantanka Automobile is making the new model in partnership with the young genius.

4. Thomas Amoaning

President Nana Akufo-Addo earlier in the year directed the Ghana Scholarship Secretariat to offer a full scholarship to Thomas Amoaning

Amoaning was a graduate of Adeiso SHS in the Eastern region who scored 8As in the 2020 WASSCE despite his challenges as a needy student

The president's directive was in reaction to the plea of Amoaning who begged for help to pursue a degree in Economics at the University of Ghana after his results became public.

5. Ebetoda

A gentleman named Ebetoda who was a hawker for years turned into a famous TV presenter within six weeks of being tutored by Nana Aba Anamoah.

Nana Aba Anamoah had trained the street hawker known as 2kay Teldem or Ebetoda to become a TV presenter after meeting Ebetoda and his friend selling on the streets and promised to help him after he revealed his passion for journalism

A video of Ebetoda's transformation earned Nana Aba massive praise on social media

6. April Amanda Nutakor

A beautiful young lady called April Amanda Nutakor was adjudged the valedictorian for the University of Ghana Law School 2019/20 academic year.

She completed her Bachelor of Laws (LLB with a First Class and a Final Grade Point Average of 3.84.

Amanda’s GPA is also a historic one because she becomes the first law student from the Premier University Law School to earn a 3.8+ GPA since 2012.

Her story went really viral as she has an absolutely stunning appearance and gave true meaning to the phrase, beauty with brains.

In other news, renowned Ghanaian rapper, Michael Owusu Addo, popularly known as Sarkodie, has bashed his industry colleague, Shatta Wale on his verified Twitter handle.

Sarkodie, as readers would recall, just finished his rapperholic concert whose advertisement had gone viral for its high and exorbitant prices.

Just after the concert, Shatta Wale put up a congratulatory post on Twitter for Sarkodie, and jokingly asking whether he was missed by the rapper.
