The National Democratic Congress has filed a petition at the Supreme Court to challenge the results of the 2020 presidential and parliamentary polls.

In a photo sighted by YEN.com.gh, the National Communications Officer of the opposition NDC, Sammy Gyamfi was spotted in the company of others on their way to present the petition at the court.

The lawsuit follows weeks of countless street protests over alleged voter fraud and irregularities in the just-ended 2020 elections.

NDC's legal team will be led by private legal practitioner, Tsatsu Tsikata.

Tony Lithur is also believed to be a part of the party's legal team.

As witnessed in 2012, the party would request for a live broadcast of the hearing of their petition contesting the 2020 general elections in the Supreme Court.

The party has also announced the following individuals as spokespersons while the trial is ongoing

1. Hon. Marietta Brew Appiah-Oppong Esq. – Former Attorney General and Minister for Justice.

2. Hon. Dr. Dominic Akuritinga Ayine Esq.- MP for Bolgatanga East and former Attorney General and Minister of Justice.

3. Dr. Abdul Baasit Aziz Bamba Esq. – Member of NDC Legal Team

4. Hon. Alex Segbefia Esq.- Director of International Relations, NDC

5. Abraham Amaliba Esq. – Director Legal, NDC

6. Sammy Gyamfi Esq.- National Communications Officer, NDC

7. Kakra Essamuah Esq.- NDC Communications Director

8. Joyce Bawa Mogtari Esq. – Special Aide and Spokesperson of HE John Dramani Mahama

9. Godwin Edudzi Tamakloe Esq. – Member of NDC legal team

Meanwhile, Former president John Dramani Mahama has stated that his party, the National Democratic Congress, NDC, will not stop protesting the 2020 election results.

The opposition NDC's Presidential Candidate said despite its intention to seek legal redress at the Supreme Court to challenge the outcome of the December 7, 2020, general elections they would still protest.

Mahama said to demand the enforcement of the rule of law and protection of life and property of the good people of Ghana, the NDC will still use protests.

He said going to the court does not stop the party from protesting the declared results.
