Uber driver saves the day after couple's online TV sale goes wrong

- Shane Davison took to Facebook's #ImStaying group to thank Ernest the Uber driver for helping him after he was scammed

- After realising that Shane had been scammed by a buyer who sent him to pick up a TV, Ernest tried his best to help

- Ernest drove around and eventually located the TV and Shane then sold the TV to Ernest at a fraction of the price

When Shane Davison found a seller for his TV on Facebook Marketplace he did not expect to get scammed. Luckily for him, a kind Uber driver named Ernest came to the rescue and helped him get his TV back.

Ernest was sent by the driver to pick up the TV from Shane after receiving a proof of payment. The payment seemed a bit sketchy as it did not contain a reference number. Ernest sent Shane the pin location for where he dropped off the TV when Shane told him he had not received the funds.

"We ended up meeting at Yeoville police station where two of the sergeants escorted us to the pawnshop where we got the TV back. All thanks to Ernest the Uber driver. And at the end of the day, we sold the TV to Ernest at a quarter of the price we tried to sell it online.
"For all the effort and time it took Ernest to drive around and look for the TV as well as the Sergeants at Yeoville Police station, you guys are the reason #ImStaying #imstayingpositive"

Stayers thanked Ernest for his hard work in locating the TV in the comments section:

Talita Malan Ferreira took to Facebook's #ImStaying group to share a heartfelt appreciation post for the helpful man who took her husband in after he was stranded in the rain due to car trouble.

"Unfortunately I don't have a pic to go with my story, but I need to share: My husband (a big, white, bearded farmer) had car trouble in the pouring rain last night close to a small town hundreds of kilometres from home (where he was working).

"Looking for help and accommodation, dirty and soaking wet, the guesthouses could not accommodate him. A good Samaritan (a black man) came to his rescue next to the road, invited him to stay the night at his house and even offered him breakfast. Can't thank you enough for your hospitality, sir," she wrote.
