Saying goodbyes to loved ones is one of the hardest things to do, especially when you share a very close bond with the departing relative.

The second daughter of the late former President Jerry John Rawlings, Princess Amina Agyemang Rawlings could not hold back her tears as she read the tribute on behalf of her mother.

The words in the tribute she read, forced tears to roll down her face.

In a bid to console her, Member of Parliament for the Klorley Klottey constituency, Dr. Zanetor Agyemang Rawlings joined her on the dais to enable her complete the reading of the tribute.

She also mentioned how Rawlings was an ever supportive husband with regards to raising them in the tribute she read on behalf of her mother.

Former president Rawlings passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2020 after a short illness at the Korle Bu teaching hospital.

As a statesman, his funeral rights started from Sunday, January 24, 2020 to Wednesday, January 27, 2020.

He was laid in state at the Accra International Conference Centre for two days for dignitaries and the pubic to pay their last respect.

A requiem mass was held at the Holy Spirit Cathedral on Sunday, January 24, 2020.

Today, Wednesday January 27 marks the final day for the ceremony of the late former Ghanaian leader.

The final ceremony is being held at the Black Stars Square.

In other news, the 52-year-old woman who has claimed to be the first child and daughter of the late former president Rawlings has been prevented from going ahead to view his mortal remains.

In a video sighted by YEN.com.gh, the woman who gave her name as Abigail Rawlings is seen being stopped by one security personnel when she tried to enter the hall where Rawlings has been laid.

Away from Rawlings' funeral rites, Dr. Dominic Ayine, has warned that the NDC lawmakers on the Appointments Committee of Parliament will reject any nominee who has the penchant for shooting

According to the former Deputy Attorney General, passing such individuals will send a bad message to the Ghanaian public regarding the Committee’s thoroughness in its scrutiny of nominees.

Dr. Ayine’s comments were about the incident involving Mavis Hawa Koomson who admitted to shooting at a voter registration centre.

She has been nominated as Ghana’s fisheries Minister-designate by President Nana Akufo-Addo.
