Ghanaian News Anchor wins ICFJ's prize for COVID-19 reporting

- Ridwan Karim Dini-Osman, a Ghanaian journalist has been named as one of the winners for the International Center for Journalists global contest

- He rose to the great feat after a total of 672 applications were obtained from 25 different countries around the world

- Ridwan's selection is based on his documentary on COVID-19 waste and the fear of the new wave of the virus

Ghanaian astute journalist by name Ridwan Karim Dini-Osman is one of the winners of a global contest on COVID-19 reporting by International Center for Journalists (ICFJ).

AmeyawDebrah reports that the hardworking journalist was selected out of a whopping 672 entries that were received from a total of 25 countries and he ended up placing third at end of the entire contest.

Ridwan was selected by virtue of a documentary he produced on how to manage COVID-19 waste and how the new wave of the infection was causing fear among the populace.

The video production in 2020 received a Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) prior to the latest feat it has brought to the Ghanaian journalist.

According to Stella Roque, ICFJ Director of Community Engagement, winners of the reporting contest are members of the ICFJ Global Health Crisis Reporting Forum, an initiative that connects journalists covering the COVID-19 crisis with experts and resources.

Judges selected the winners from all entries and evaluated them based on the reporting rigour, data and multimedia utilisation, and overall storytelling. The winning journalists will receive cash prizes.

In another captivating report, Adelaide Bortier, a super-talented singer living with blindness has been captured in a video dancing in sync to her newly-released single, Wire Me.

In the footage sighted by YEN.com.gh on her personal Instagram handle @adelaidetheseer, the 25-year-old lady displayed the dance moves with another lady who could see.

It is thinkable that anyone who does not know prior to watching the video that Adelaide's eyes do not function, would not be able to tell by seeing her dance.
