Funny Face arrest: Lil Win wades into police brutality saga; fans blast him

Kumawood actor and singer Lil Win, known in private life as Kwadwo Nkansah, has waded into the issue of Funny Face's arrest and brutalisation by the police.

As it has been trending on social media, Funny Face was recently arrested by personnel of the Ghana Police Service over a matter which has not been made public yet.

A video which popped up showed how the popular comic actor was accosted by a number of policemen.

The video sighted by YEN.com.gh shows the policeman dragging the comic actor away from his Range Rover which was parked by the roadside.

While being dragged, Funny Face resisted and fell down in the process, but he was still dragged to the police pickup nearby.

Many have condemned the treatment meted out fo Funny Face with Lil Win being the latest to join in.

In a post on his Instagram page, Lil Win shared screenshots of documents detailing how suspects should be arrested and treated.

Captioning the photos, Lil Win indicated that all humans are equal before God. He also urged the Ghana Police Service to apologise to Funny Face while also calling for celebrities to be treated with respect.

"Before God we are all equally wise and equally foolish. The cry of equality pulls everyone down... So Help us God ...#GHPoliceMustApologizeToFunnyFace #LetsTreatOurCelebritiesWithRespect," he said.

Lil Win's post has however landed him in trouble with some of his followers who have criticised him.

"There’s no police brutality in Ghana and scrap that your statement that let’s treat our celebrities with respect because no one is above the law in Ghana.I'm not too sure Police will just approach funny face for no crime committed. In as much as y’all want to be treated as such as celebrities try and also understand that there’s a limit to everything that you do, because there’s a law that binds our country."

Meanwhile, Prince David Osei has reacted to Funny Face's attacks on him over the arrest issue.

Funny Face had blasted Osei for 'empathising' with him over his recent arrest but in a mature response, Osei has shared words of encouragement.

His response earned him praise from Akua GMB, Osebo, Moesha Boduong, and others.

Earlier, Funny Face shared a video showing how he was recently arrested and brutalised by the police.

Funny Face cursed the Ghana Police Service and its personnel for the treatment meted to him.

Fans of the comedian have condemned the behaviour of the police towards him.
