COVID-19 has killed 15 more people in Ghana, pushing the country’s fatality tally to 533.

A total of 718 new COVID-19 cases were also recorded, shooting up the active cases to 8,216.

The statistics also revealed that currently, there are 101 people with severe conditions, with 33 people in critical condition.

Ghana has had 75,836 confirmed cases of infection with 67,087 recoveries.

The Greater Accra Region leads with the highest number of active cases accounting for 4.103 infections.

The region with the second-highest number is the Ashanti Region with 1,576 active cases, followed by the Western Region with 665 cases.

Central, Eastern, and Volta Regions also have 341, 296, and 346 active cases respectively.

These new figures are statistics from the last update on Saturday, February 13, 2021, according to the Ghana Health Service (GHS) website.

The recent upsurge in the COVID-19 cases in Ghana has been largely blamed on the lack of adherence to the COVID-19 safety protocols.

Cases detected at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) are 1,172 with 945 recoveries.

So far, all the 16 regions in Ghana have recorded cases of the virus.

In other news, as the coronavirus cases keep surging with a terrifying daily death toll, traders in Tema have decided to take advantage of the situation.

Nose masks have been proven to be one of the effective protocols put in place by the World Health Organisation(WHO) to prevent the spread of the virus.

The demand for nose mask has dramatically increased following the surge in Ghana's COVID-19 cases.
