Election petition: 'The case is Empty. I mean at) nsuom' - Social media reacts to latest SC ruling

- According to the court, the application is not given on “compassionate grounds”

-The petitioner was seeking the court’s leave to reopen his case to subpoena the chairperson of the EC into the witness box

- For lead counsel of the petitioner, attempts to shield the EC chair from mounting the box for cross-examination would embolden public officials to misbehave knowing they will go scot-free

Election petition: Dismissal of Mahama’s motion to reopen his case was no surprise - Kwaku Azar

Maxwell Nana Quophi Baggio believes: “The case is Empty. I mean "At) nsuom.”

Dominic Danquah asked Mahama to forget about the case. “But the judges should know that they are ending our democracy, they are doing everything possible to protect this woman from answering some questions,” he stated.

On his part, Kwadwo Owusu Bempah said the petition was “baseless with no single evidence.”

Richard Kwaku Busi stated: “Yes, dismissed again. The cover-up of Jean Mensah continues unabated. She will be exposed if she mount the witness box and they wouldn't allow that. Why should the declared 2020 presidential results on the EC website change for 5times and the one in charge will not be allowed for questioning in the Court of Law."

Terkper Richard was not surprised the application was dismissed. “We are not expecting something different than dismissed, Ghana court,” he said.

Daniel Selasi added: “But seriously oo, I wonder why many keep on being surprised about the ruling of our Supreme Court judges, their minds are made up already to prevent Jean Mensa from going into the wittiness box period.”

Election petition: 3 key takeaways from Monday’s hearing ahead of Supreme Court’s ruling today

Christopher Mensah believes the judges are doing God’s work. “In fact,” he wrote “God is talking through these Judges....great work done...Bravo....paahpaahpaah.”

Haruna Habib Janta described the ruling as saddening. “It is very sad if you have this predetermined kind of court in our country. But one thing we should all know including the judges is that in the country where judges and judgments are not fair, there can't be peace anywhere because people are still bitter and they should know that we are sick and tired of corrupt attitudes at the very institution that should uphold the dignity of this country.”

Nana Kwame respectfully disagreed. “This simply shows the petitioner has no case. Cos it's obvious all the applications they brought have been dismissed. This clearly shows the gravity of their case. And they are now seeking a review. Delay tactics."

Nana Asiedu had the killer reaction. He wrote: “It's crystal clear now; it's easier for President Akufo-Addo to grow dreadlocks than President Mahama getting any of his applications granted. Justice is an illusion. A failed state.”
