COVID-19 vaccination begins today; know where to go for the vaccine

- The COVID-19 vaccines would be administered to some groups of the public starting today, March 2, 2021

- The exercise will take off in the Greater Accra and Kumasi Metropolitan areas

- The exercise is scheduled to end on Monday, March 15

Ghana is exactly 10 days away from marking a year since the country recorded its first case of the coronavirus disease.

The disease which has so far claimed the lives of 607 persons and infected several others has wreaked havoc more than could be imagined.

Luckily for Ghana, the country happens to be one of the countries to take delivery of the COVAX vaccine on Wednesday, February 24, 2021.

As announced, the vaccines would be administered to some groups of the public starting today, March 2, 2021.

In President Akufo-Addo's 24th COVID-19 address to the nation, he mentioned that the vaccines were going to be administered in some 43 districts which according to him have been earmarked as Epicenters.

Prior to that, the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, and his wife, Rebecca Akufo-Addo were the first to take the jab at the 37 military hospital.

The vice-president, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, and his wife Samira Bawumia also took the jab at the Police Hospital in Accra,

In a report carried by 3news, the exercise will take off in the Greater Accra and Kumasi Metropolitan areas, which have been recording high numbers per Ghana Health Service Statistics.

In view of this, the Ministry of Health in partnership with the Ghana Health Service has released some infographics of where the vaccines will be available.

The exercise is scheduled to end on Monday, March 15.
