Former President Mahama has sent in his message for Ghana’s Independence Day Celebration calling for unity.

On his Twitter Page, Mahama warned; “We have only one country” - calling for unity and respect for human equality, freedom and justice.

Mahama’s Independence message comes after his nation address to express disagreement with the Election 2020 Petition.

Meanwhile, President Akufo-Addo has charged all Ghanaians to be resolute in contributing to national development. Taking to his social media profile to send Ghanaians an Independence Message to Ghanaians.

We must all step up and play significant roles in the development of Ghana, our motherland. Let us bequeath to our children, their children, and generations unborn a nation of hope and opportunity, not one of despair and retrogression.

Ghana is 64 years old since gaining independence from colonial rule. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, all public celebrations of the day have been suspended.

Six Members of Parliament have served notice to sponsor a bi-partisan Private Members Bill to proscribe and criminalise the advocacy and practice of homosexuality.

They believe the Bill would seek to further strengthen Ghana’s legal jurisprudence and existing legislation on unnatural carnal knowledge to reflect the current state of affairs.

“It is our belief that all members of this House would support this Bill when it comes before the House,” Mr Samuel Nartey George, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ningo Prampram, leader of the six MPs proposing the Bill, said in a statement on the floor of the House.
