Former Black Stars midfielder, Michael Essien, has proved his critics wrong after releasing a photo of his family.

The football star came under severe attack after deciding to support the right of the LGBTQ+ community in Ghana.

Many Ghanaians insulted the former Chelsea star as they described him as gay.

Now, Essien has replied his critics by proving that all the things said about him are false.

On Monday, March 8, 2021, which happened to be International Women's Day, Essien took to social media to celebrate all women.

In celebrating the day, Essien released a photo flaunting his three children.

In the photo sighted by YEN.com.gh., Essien is captured in the same attire as his kids.

From the photo, his kids' face was not shown as it was covered with love emojis.

His caption of the photo read, "Happy International Women's Day to all the mothers out there."

YEN.com.gh also reported that the National Security has raided the administrative office of LGBTQ+ Rights Ghana in Tesano in Accra to shut down the office which was opened in February 2021.

In a post on social media, LGBTQ+ Rights Ghana disclosed its members no longer have access to a safe space as their lives are being threatened.

''This morning, our office was raided by National Security. A few days ago, traditional leaders threatened to burn down our office but the police did not help. At this moment, we no longer have access to our safe space and our safety is being threatened,'' the post read.
