The General Overseer of Action Chapel International (ACI), Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, says it takes faith for one to take the COVID-19 vaccine.

According to the man of God, despite testing negative 22 times for the deadly contagion, he still went ahead with the jab.

“...And if you think I don’t have faith for taking the vaccine, you are joking, I have faith but taking the vaccine is also common sense and it is also wisdom,” the Archbishop stated in a sermon over the weekend.

The ACI General Overseer expressed disappointment in some Ghanaians for refusing to take the vaccine because of conspiracies on social media.

It will be recalled that Duncan-Williams was spotted wearing two masks at the funeral of the late former President of Ghana, Ft Lt Jerry John Rawlings, at the Black Star Square on January 27, 2021.

His unwavering faith in God and the power that lies in prayer had gotten some people wondering why he was doubly serious about preventing COVID-19.

The much-revered man of God disclosed that he received a lot of calls from friends and congregants curious to know if his action had something to do with divine instruction.

Ghana on February 22, 2021, took delivery of 600,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine under the United Nation-led COVAX facility.

The AstraZeneca vaccine is licensed to the Serum Institute of India (AZ/SII).

The vaccine arrived at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) on an Emirates Airlines cargo, EK787.

It was received by a delegation led by the Minister of Health designate, Kwaku Agyeman-Manu.

Ghana also signed on to a consignment of the Russian Sputnik V Covid-19 vaccine.

The emergency authorization was captured in a press statement by the Russian Government which states the Ghana government had “granted an emergency authorization” of the vaccine."

Ghana has had over 80,000 cases of the virus and over 600 deaths.
