Honourable Alhaji Habib Iddrisu, the Member of Parliament for the Tolon Constituency in the Northern Region of Ghana, has paid the school fees for 150 students in his constituency.

As citinewsroom reports, the Deputy Majority Chief Whip settled the bills as part of the Soya-Lana Educational Trust Fund which he launched recently.

According to him, the fund is targeting all students in the Tolon constituency particularly the brilliant but needy and physically challenged female students.

This becomes the first time the Talon Constituency is having such a massive academic scholarship programme and it is expected to help over 1,000 beneficiaries in total.

The MP disclosed that apart from simply paying bills, part of the package is to provide guidance and counselling services regarding education and career choices.

Again, Alhaji Habib Iddrisu indicates the fund will provide remedial tuition and registration of private WAEC examination for SHS leavers in the constituency to better their grades.

Meanwhile, Marjorie Nana Ama Kwarteng, a Ghanaian lady who has an MBA in Project Management from GIMPA has resorted to selling fried yam by the roadside for a living.

In a narration by Ghanaian blogger Edward Asare who had a personal encounter with Nana Ama, it is indicated that the young lady once headed the customer service department of a company.

However, the company the hardworking lady worked for experienced liquidation issues and that changed her employment status for the worse.
