GRIDCo finally releases 3 days ‘dumsor’ timetable for Volta, Oti regions

The Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCO) has finally released a load shedding timetable to better manage the recent erratic power cuts in some parts of the country.
The schedule released is to ration power supply to parts of the Volta and Oti regions over the next few days.
In a notice sighted by YEN.com.gh from GRIDCo to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), GRIDCo requested that the outages commenced from Thursday, March 18 to Monday, March 22, 2021.

According to GRIDCo, this would enable them to undertake repair and maintenance works on transformers supplying power to the two regions.
Parts of Ho, Adaklu Ahunda, Sogakope, Akatsi, Keta, Adidome, and its environs are expected to experience power outages.
Below is the timetable;
The time span of these planned power cuts is 12 hours.
Some areas would have light from 6 in the morning to 6 in the evening while others will have to go to bed in total darkness from 6 in the evening to 6 in the morning.

This load shedding time table comes out after most parts of the country experienced an erratic power cut on March 7, 2021.
Most Ghanaians took to social media to find out if the power cuts, popularly known as dumsor was back, and demanded that a schedule be given to that effect.
GRIDCo, however, released a statement explaining the circumstances that led to the power outage across the country.
GRIDCo stated the nationwide power outage was a result of a temporal challenge they were facing at the time.
The statement assured that the company's technical team was "working to restore power supply to all bulk supply points (BSPs) in the country."
The CEO of the Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo), Jonathan Amoako-Baah allayed the rising fear explaining that the “nature of the power system value chain, makes that impossible.”
