No Ghanaian president built more roads than Akufo-Addo - Roads Minister

- Minister for Roads and Highways has said Akufo-Addo’s feats in the country’s road sector is unmatched

- According to him, no president comes close, not even Dr. Kwame Nkrumah

- He said Akufo-Addo is the first president to build seven interchanges within four years

Roads and Highways Minister, Kwesi Amoako-Atta, has stated that no administration in the history of Ghana can match the achievements chalked by the Akufo-Addo administration in the roads sector.

He said President Akufo-Addo in his first term constructed seven interchanges; five in Accra, one each in Takoradi, and tamale.

This, according to him, puts the president in the league of his own when it comes to road constructions in the history of Ghana.

“Right from independence, the seriousness attached to the road sector is unprecedented. And, no government within a period of three to four years can match the feat of Akufo-Addo,” Amoako-Atta stated in Kumasi on Thursday, March 18, 2021.

He said anyone who wishes to verify his bold claim can do so, stressing: “The figures are there, the statistics are there.”

In other news on YEN.com.gh, a leading member of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, has lashed out at some cabinet ministers who are sneakily holding meetings to announce their presidential ambitions, barely four months into President Akufo-Addo’s second term.

In a Facebook post sighted by YEN.com.gh, he expressed disgust at those ministers seeking to already succeed the president when governments across the world are battling the coronavirus pandemic, economic hardships among other excruciating social challenges.

“Which part of this, don’t you get, Mr. Cabinet Member!” he wrote. “This is not the time to be planting for delegates and votes,” he added.

That notwithstanding, he admonished the cabinet ministers with presidential ambition going about campaigning for votes and delegates to resign and focus on their interest.

“If your focus, as a member of Akufo-Addo’s government, is to first fight for your own ambition and transformation, then, please, feel free to move over to move on,” he stated.

His comments generated massive reactions among his followers with many asking him to be bold and name the cabinet ministers scrambling to succeed the president.

Margaret Mba said: “I think you should call out that person, straight up.”

Ohenebapa Nana Nyarko added: “Indeed, this is not time to be planting for delegates and votes!”

Kwame Zion stated: “We will start beating them soon, no time for any imbecility; we have to break the 8 at all cost Gabby!”
