The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) of Ghana has announced that Ghana could start importing unpackaged COVID-19 vaccines in bulk.

That according to the FDA, will give local companies the job to fill the vaccines into empty vials.

The Chief Executive Officer at FDA, Delese Mimi Darko, said this is likely to happen within the next six months.

“We may not be at that end of the entire drug development lifecycle but at least we can start with the filling,” Mrs. Darko said.

She said Ghana could have as many as three companies engaged in the filling process.
