The Ghana Education Service (GES) has made another U-turn on its earlier order to the Achimota School not to admit the two Rastafarian students denied admission to the school because of their dreadlocks.

It has directed the school to admit the students with their rasta hair as against its earlier directive that the school should not admit them.

Earlier, when the issue gained ground on social media, the GES publicly announced that the students’ religious rights should be respected and admitted.

But it appeared it was a ploy to ease the tension that the issue was creating among Ghanaians, according to a GES officer who spoke in an interview with Joy FM and monitored by YEN.com.gh.

The Director-General of GES, Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa, according to a report sighted by YEN.com.gh on Ghanacelebrities.com, said the GES’ first order to Achimota to admit the students still stands and has not been changed.

He said the students should be admitted on the condition that they keep their hair neat and tidy at all times.

Meanwhile, YEN.com.gh earlier published the raw scores and other certificates of Tyrone Marghuy, one of the students in the middle of this whole controversy.

From the record, Marghuy's best six subjects were the four core subjects of English, Mathematics, Science and Socia Studies which he scored ones in as well as ICT and BDT.
