Dafeamekpor warned without equivocation that changing the leadership of the NDC caucus will destroy the party.

“They survived Agyarko-bribery accusations 4yrs ago. This too they will,” he stated in a tweet sighted by YEN.com.gh.

According to him, Haruna Iddrisu, Muntaka Mubarak, and James Klutse Avedzi remain the NDC’s “most potent strikers against Kyei Mensa Bonsu, Afenyo-Markin, and Annor-Dompreh in Parliament.”

“To even shift them internally would be damaging to the formation let alone to replace any,” he warned.

Party can’t choose leaders for us; we already settled on Haruna - A.B.A Fuseini to NDC

There have been growing differences and internal squabbling among members of the NDC, following the approval of all the ministerial nominees announced by President Akufo-Addo.

The recent approval of Ken Ofori-Atta as Finance Minister dealt the party’s unity a major blow.

“The compromise of their future election fortunes starts now,” Prof. Ransford Gyampo warned in an interview monitored by YEN.com.gh on Starr FM on Wednesday as calls for the leadership of the Minority to be overhauled heightened.

The General Secretary of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, disclosed in an interview with Citi TV that the party’s hierarchy is working on choosing leaders before Parliament resumes on May 18, 2021, after the Easter break.

Reacting to Asiedu Nketia’s suggestion, MP for Sagnarigu, Alhaji A.B.A Fuseini, said they will reject any attempt by the party to change the leadership.

He said there is no need for change, stressing that the NDC caucus is satisfied with their leadership.

We were rushed into approving Ken Ofori-Atta - Cletus Avoka

He further added in an interview monitored by YEN.com.gh on Adom FM that they had already chosen their leaders and the regions agreed overwhelmingly that Haruna Iddrisu should be their leader.

In other news, MP for Zebilla, Cletus Avoka, says Ken Ofori-Atta’s approval was rushed.

“We were rushed into approving Ken Ofori-Atta and also approving the budget because of the time element of the house,” the former Interior Minister told Accra-based Starr FM’s Morning Starr programme monitored by YEN.com.gh.

Parliament on Monday, March 29, 2021, approved Ofori-Atta’s nomination by voice following the consensus recommendation by the Appointments Committee after two days of vetting.

Iddrisu explained in seconding the motion for the approval of Ofori-Atta on the floor of Parliament that the consensus recommendation by the party was strategic to ensure the finance minister carries his own cross of economic mismanagement.

NDC’s Bolgatanga Central MP, Isaac Adongo, disagreed with the course being traversed by the leadership of the Minority Caucus.
