News reaching YEN.com.gh indicates that a policeman has killed a 10-year-old girl on the Ntankoful-Anaji Highway in the Western Region.

The policeman whose name was given as Owusu was driving a private car and was reportedly chasing the driver of an alleged unlicensed vehicle.

According to a report filed by 3news, the vehicle the policeman was driving reportedly lost control in the process of chasing the unlicensed vehicle and smashed a tipper truck.

He reportedly veered off and also smashed a 10-year-old girl who was hawking on the road and killed her instantly.

Eye witnesses at the scene of the accident said the body of the 10-year-old girl was left lying on the road while the policeman was rushed to hospital.

Meanwhile, the driver who was being pursued by the police escaped without any trace

In other news, military officers have shot a taxi driver to death in the Eastern Region town of Asamankese. The incident occurred on Monday, April 5, 2021.

There has been massive public outcry since the grisly murder of the 33-year-old deceased identified as Yaw George.

Roadblocks were mounted on the town’s major thoroughfare by angry residents demanding justice for their maimed kindred.

The irate residents also besieged the town’s police station over the heinous murder, sources close to the development told YEN.com.gh.

According to a report filed by Starrfm.com.gh, the 33-year-old deceased was shot Monday morning while driving a taxi with registration number GR 3847-21 and escorting a truck transporting his lumber.
